Histoire et explication Hotel California

 

 

Hotel California a été composée par Don Felder, Don Henley, Glenn Frey et sortie en 1976 sur l’album du même nom. Sous des airs de slow et de chanson d’amour, Hotel California parle en réalité d’un centre de désintoxication célèbre à Los Angeles et nommé Hotel California.

La chanson n’est donc pas une « vraie » chanson d’amour mais une chanson sur l’addiction et ses dérives.  Hotel California a par ailleurs été certainement inspirée par le morceau du groupe Jethro Tull, écrite par Ian Anderson,  We Used To Know sur l’album Stand Up publié en 1969. Hotel California s’est enfin classé n°1 au Billboard amércain en mai 1977. Elle a été reprise par de nombreux artistes dont les Gipsy Kings, Bob Marley, Nancy Sinatra…

 

Biographie The Eagles

Eagles est un groupe californien issu de la fin des années 1960, composée de Jackson Browne, Warren Zevon et aux influences country et Bluegrass. Pionnier du country rock, le groupe fut formé en 1971.
